My practice areas at The Firm are asbestos litigation, medical malpractice and construction accident cases.

I joined The Firm in April 1998, after working for seven years at the San Francisco Public Defenders Office. Initially, I was assigned to the Misdemeanor Trial Unit, where I handled a high volume case load of relatively minor offenses. Then I was promoted to the Felony Trial Unit, where I represented indigent criminal defendants in cases of greater severity and complexity, including cases involving charges of murder, sexual assaults, and vehicular manslaughter. I worked in the Felony Trial Unit for approximately two years, after which I transferred to the Juvenile Division for another two years before returning to the Felony Trial Unit. During my seven years in the Public Defenders Office, I personally conducted more than seventy jury and court trials.

For the past five years, I have served as an Adjunct Professor to the Criminal Practice Clinic at Hastings College of Law.

Outside of work, I am involved in an array of community-based activities. I am Chairman of the Board of the West Bay Local Development Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation that owns and operates a community conference center in the Fillmore District of San Francisco. I also serve as a corporate fundraiser for The College Fund/UNCF.

My greatest passion, however, is the work I do on behalf of youth. For the past six years I have served as the Director of the Youth Department of Third Baptist Church in San Francisco. In that capacity, I have developed programs to assist youth (primarily from the Bay View/Hunters Point and Fillmore Districts) in developing a stronger sense of their spiritual purpose, a more accomplished record of academic achievement, and a more insightful understanding of their cultural identity. I have spent many hours providing personal counseling, legal representation, and rendering guidance to obtain various social services. Directing the next generation of leaders is a task that I view to be of the highest level of importance and the greatest level of fun.

I have also served on the Board of Directors of San Francisco Educational Services, a not-for-profit agency that provides academic support services for youth in the Bayview/Hunters Point District of San Francisco, and I am a member of the State Bar Of California, Alameda - Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association, Alameda County Bar Association, and Charles Houston Bar Association, and on the Board of Directors of Consumer Attorneys of California.
