Kazan Law and the COVID-19 Pandemic

July 2021 Update: Kazan Law has resumed normal operations at our office, in compliance with COVID-19 state guidelines. We are happy to meet with you in person at your home or our office.

Kazan Law and the COVID-19 Pandemic

During these extraordinary times of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Kazan, McClain, Satterley & Greenwood remains fully operational and fully committed to serving our clients and their families fully and safely.

This difficult time poses challenges for all of us.  As the entire country deals with the COVID-19 pandemic, work schedules and school hours and everyday living have been disrupted.  We understand the importance to all of us of staying safe and working together to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

For the Kazan firm, with our office located in Oakland, these challenges have included an early shelter-in-place order affecting everyone around the Bay Area.  We responded by taking quick and proactive steps to keep our firm open while fully protecting the health and safety of our employees and their families, the people in our communities, and you – our clients and their families.

While we deal with these COVID-19 challenges, the impact of you or a loved one being diagnosed with mesothelioma remains, along with the need for those affected to get help.  We at the Kazan firm can assure you that we are here for you, as always, to support you and your family during this time.

Representing Mesothelioma Patients During COVID-19

Our team is equipped to represent you and your family fully while taking needed precautions regarding COVID-19.

Kazan Law Mesothelioma Attorneys Zoom Meeting During COVID-19 Pandemic
Attorneys and staff at the Kazan firm use Zoom technology for many daily meetings to discuss cases and legal issues to serve their mesothelioma clients.

As always, we are here and ready to discuss your specific diagnosis, to provide accurate and reliable information about mesothelioma, medical treatment options, and legal help options.  To begin this process and get informed, you can contact us immediately, 24/7, by phone, e-mail submission, or online chat via the widget on this page.

Next, we at the Kazan firm are prepared and ready to represent you and your family fully throughout the legal process.  Direct, personal, face-to-face interaction with our clients has long been a Kazan hallmark – and continues to be, whenever possible under current safety guidelines.  Our attorneys are able to meet one-on-one when needed, following all medical protocols including physical distancing, wearing face coverings, etc.  And our attorneys and all staff have adapted quickly to use all available technologies, including Zoom and Skype and FaceTime, to interact with not just clients but other attorneys, courts and judges, and each other.

Kazan Law Mesothelioma Zoom Meetings
Zoom technology allows Kazan attorneys to share and work on legal documents in real time while discussing legal issues and moving their clients’ cases toward resolution.

In short, using these technologies has not only allowed us at the Kazan firm to continue representing clients and prosecuting cases without missing a beat, but also has in many ways made our efforts to represent clients even more efficient.

COVID-19

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that is caused by exposure to a novel “coronavirus” that can spread from person to person, mainly from close physical contact.  For this new virus, medical experts are working full-speed to develop both a vaccine to prevent exposure and treatments to curb the disease’s effect.  In the meantime, the best way to prevent the spread of illness is to avoid exposure to the virus.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 are a dry cough, fever, fatigue, other flu-like symptoms, and shortness of breath.  According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), these symptoms typically appear anywhere from 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus.

Although people of all ages can contract COVID-19, the symptoms affect people differently.  In general, those most susceptible to the disease include older people and people with pre-existing medical conditions (e.g., respiratory conditions, asthma, diabetes, cancer, heart disease) and compromised immune systems.

Because mesothelioma also affects the respiratory system and weakens the immune system, avoiding COVID-19 is important for all mesothelioma patients.

COVID-19 and the Court

Like all businesses and workplaces, the state’s courts have been affected by this pandemic and the governing state and local safety orders.

The Kazan firm is dedicated to keeping the courthouse doors open, analyzing the rules, doing all we can to file and move our cases toward settlement and trial, and moving actively to work with the courts to set the rules allowing us all to keep the legal process moving – safely.  Every day, we are actively filing cases, working with clients, interviewing witnesses, finding evidence, and moving claims through the courts via electronic filings and more.

Help is here, now.  If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, contact us right away.
