The Riverside city and county was named after its location beside the Santa Ana River. Once Riverside started to grow as a city, a small guest hotel, known as the Glenwood Tavern, was established, later on it became the Mission Inn, and started to be favored by presidents, royalty and movie stars. Inside of this hotel, there was a special chair made for the sizable President William Howard Taft.
